You do not need to franchise tag Stanton or Reddick because they just crossed into Veteran status and have not been signed to a contract yet. Therefore, you can sign them to their initial contracts. Joyce and Johnson, on the other hand, can only be resigned using the franchise tag because their current contract has expired.

Franchise tags have to be either 3 or 4 years per constitution.

Franchise tags have to be either 3 or 4 years per constitution. This is correct. Each team can have up to two players franchised at any given time. When franchise tag contracts are handed out, they must be for either 3 or 4 years. Please take care of this...thanks!
