Hey all,
There's been some discussion on whether or not teams should be able to trade/retain franchise tags.
Examples:
- Team A trades a player, but retains the franchise tag.
- Team B trades a franchise tag, but retains the player
To help us decide what the rule should be, please vote in this poll by Jan 1, 2023. If any changes are made, they will go into effect starting next season.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

The discussion is more around TEAM b option. not the other
I believe, We can trade tags of players you dont own, because you dropped or moved already
But trading off a tag and keeping that player still is what we need to vote on
If you move a tag, you can't own the player ( so moving a tag and player makes sense)
you can move a player but retain the tag, because that was your commitment. and kina your punishment you can try to move it later if you have takers

Like rule Example
You may trade tags of Players, but you need to have removed, moved, or released the tagged player

Has to be either/or IMO.
Can't have a rule that allows you to retain the tag (without the player), but then disallow teams to keep the player (without the tag).

Wherever the player goes tag goes..you cannot trade just the tag… I don’t see that example..tag and player are married for the length of contract
