Pirates cover Lopez salary this year

thanks Matt… I love Lopez but trying to look forward and still be competitive this season.. Harrison will have growing pains this year and if he stays healthy will figure it out. Morel brings depth to 3B after this season as both Busch and Steer will not qualify after the season.

Phillies accept. Might be higher on Lopez than most after a somewhat up and down start to this season, but firmly believe he’s a top ten SP long term. Have a few mild concerns about Harrison’s upside with his current FB shape and extension, but he’s at the very least a mid range starter which carries a lot of value. Also hate losing Morel after just acquiring him, but feel okay about my long term depth there.

Appreciate the talks, Johnny. Had a lot of good starting offers out there for Harrison and just couldn’t turn down the opportunity to get Lopez.
