Discuss all things Free Agency related here!
To start an auction please create a thread with the player's name. In the post, please list the years offered, yearly salary offered, and total points. Also, if winning the auction would put you over the roster limit, you must list a conditional drop in EACH post. Failure to do any of these things will result in an invalid bid.

Good afternoon,
Welcome to the 2019 FAA! All players listed as V not on a current roster are all eligible for contracts! As always bids placed must not cause you to go over your cap and 40 Man roster. A bid is won when 24 hours has passed with no bids.

When you want to bid on players, but your cap room and future cap space says you shouldn't. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

Just a reminder, rosters are locked at this time...You may release a player but can only add one thru FAA...

FYI, i am unable to change salaries on winning bids to spreadsheet...Hopefully, Josh will see this issue and correct it...i've tried dragging the correct salaries/duration of contract to no avail...If another mod knows how to do this that i haven't tried please edit the spreadsheet...Thanks for your patience...

Before I bid on Anibal Sanchez again, Pirates can you confirm whether or not he's eligible for FA Auction? I wasn't aware of the rule you brought up yesterday with Heyward and Zimmerman.

Sorry for the confusion guys. For any released player, they ARE eligible for the FAA, so long as the 48 hour waiver period has passed. The 2019 just indicates that the team that released them is still paying their salary.

So, Jason Heyward is owed $13M for this season by my team. I released him during last season. How does that contract situation work? Would he be paid two salaries on two contracts by two different teams?

Would he be paid two salaries on two contracts by two different teams? Per the constitution, under the Contracts thread: Releasing Players Under ContractIf you release a player before their contract expires, you are responsible for their cap hit until their contract expires unless they are claimed off of waivers. In the event that a released player under contract is signed via Free Agency at a later date, the team that released him will be allowed to reduce their cap hit by the amount that the player signs for in his new deal. While this makes no logical sense in real life (essentially, the player is playing for free for his new team), it works in this here fantasy.

Ive seen a couple people ask about updating FAAB calculations in the constitution. I am under the impression it is updated.
1 year = 1 point 2 years = 1.75 points 3 years = 2.25 points 4 years = 2.5 points
This is what we used last year as well...were additional changes made?

Thanks for the response Josh. I think I was confused since in the past we had added a value for years instead of multiplying (I could be remembering wrong), and the constitution doesn’t say to multiply. Could just be semantics or I have a bad memory lol

I wonder how many owners will be trying to trade these 3-4 year contracts next off-season ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
