Red Sox receive Hanley Ramirez and Tim Lincecum Astros receive Josh Hader and Joe Kelly
Astros accept. I think I'm still in a good spot OF wise so I'm parting with Ramirez to improve my pitching. As I usually do if I'm planning on releasing someone I offer to add them as a throw in and Darren decided to take Lincecum instead of me releasing him.
Thanks Darren.

I was in need of a LF for this season. All i had was Gregor Blanco to fill the spot, now that I believe Charlie Blackmon will lose eligibility. Hanley is a big risk with his injury history, but he could be a big reward type player if he has his mind and body straight. He should give me a back up 1st basemen also which i needed. Kelly had a very good 2nd half, Hader has been one of the big rising prospects in the offseason. Hader even got Chris Sale comps by one site. Seems like a fair trade to me then.
Thanks Brian and I accept.

Looks like both teams got pieces they needed. I like the what the Astros are walking away with more, simply because of the risk involved with Ramirez and the questions about what role Lincecum will play. Good looking deal, guys.
1-0
